Uni-Technology invests in sustainability and green transition
At Uni-Technology we take responsibility for the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our production. If Denmark is to reach the goal of a 70% CO2 reduction by 2030, we all need to contribute.
In July 2022, we carried out Climate-ready Production Compnay, which is a project supported by the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Danish Industry Fondation.
The project strengthens the company’s growth and competitiveness through CO2 accounting in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas protocol (see below), environmental strategy and communication.
Our subsidiary, Uni-Technology Stensved A/S, completed the project in September 2023 as well and can also present CO2 accounting.
As part of our environmental strategy, we have set objectives and made plans for how to reduce our environmental impact.

We will achieve our objectives by:
In connection with “Climate-ready Production Company”, we made our first CO2 accounts for the base year 2018. We have chosen to use “Klimakompasset” for our CO2 accounts.
The accounts show that our total footprint in 2018 amounted to 578 tonnes of CO2 equivalents (tCO2e). This is the base line for our goal of reducing our emissions by 70% in scope 1 and 2 by 2030 compared to our base line year 2018.
See our CO2 accounts for 2018 >
The CO2 accounts for 2022 show a slight decrease compared to 2018 in emissions of 42 tCO2e, corresponding to just over 7%.
See our CO2 account for 2022 >
There are 2 reasons for the decrease:
Energy
Reduction from 2018 to 2022: 22 tCO2e.
We have reduced our total energy consumption. At the same time, electricity and district heating in Denmark are gradually becoming greener over time.
Purchasing mix
Reduction from 2018 to 2022: 20 tCO2e.
A changed mix in our purchases of goods and services has resulted in lower emissions.
SBTi is a collaboration between Carbon Disclosure Project, World Resources Institute, WWF Verdensnaturfonden and FN Global Compact. The initiative is designed to promote ambitious climate action in the private sector by mobilising companies to set CO2 reduction targets in line with climate research recommendations.
Through our commitment to SBTi, we commit to:
The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol is the leading international standard for how CO2 emissions should be quantified and reported as CO2 equivalents under three different types of emissions, referred to as Scope 1, 2 and 3.
Scope 1
Direct emissions from the company’s processes.
Scope 2
Indirect emissions from supplied energy
Scope 3
Indirect emissions from the company’s value chain, both upstream and downstream.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals constitute an important basis for developing the world in a responsible and sustainable way.
We support all the goals, but we have chosen that 2 of them should be an active part of our way of doing business.
